Day 1 Lula Mississippi to Choctaw Rec area Arkansas

We made it through day 1, it was hot and the roads were mostly gravel. The first part of the day had round river gravel, very similar to marbles, through the flat farmlands.  Lots of fun gettin' used to it. The 2nd half we started to see some elevation changes and more red clay dirt. The temps fluctuated widely all day, after being soaked with sweat, Chip managed to get a quick chill near the end of the day in the shade of the bridge in the pic.
It was a total of 218 miles and everyone a  good one. We saw 4 deer, 1 rabbit
We're camping in Choctaw Ark, at Choctaw Rec area. Nice place, lotsa shade. We're outta here at 7am headed norhwest to Devils' Den State park.
Wish yall were here.

  1. Let me know how the ride was to my DEN! (lol) Glad the ride is going well! The KLR moved itself last night... guess it wishes it was along for the ride too!
